Respect for the law of God must be the foundation of good governance of nations

In the compliance of the Ten Commandments of the law of God is the key to spiritual and material progress of nations.
The Ten Commandments were given by God to Moses and are: “1. You shall have no other gods before me 2. You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 3 You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God. 4. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 5. Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. 6. You shall not murder. 7. You shall not commit adultery. 8. You shall not steal. 9. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. 10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” (Exodus 20. 1:17).
Christ and his apostles ratified the Ten Commandments (Matthew 19. 17:18) and taught the love among the human beings. Jesus also left a great lesson about the behavior of the rulers of his time and said to his disciples: “you know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20. 25:28).
The most serious problems facing humanity are due to non-compliance with the fundamental principles laid down in the law of God. These principles are the moral and ethics base on which should be supported politics, society and the economy. The Ten Commandments, then, is not only a religious expression but also the essential rules for the development and welfare of human beings.
The major financial crises, hunger of millions of people and corruption in public and private institutions have their origin in violation of the commandment that prohibits to steal; the crime, in disobedience of the principle of honoring father and mother and respect to the property; the administration of justice crisis in the ignorance of the commandment against perjury and false witness. In synthesis, all political, economic and social problems of humanity have an explanation in the ignorance of the commandments of God's law.
If the rulers and the people respect these principles of the law of God the world would live in prosperity and harmony; would be better distributed wealth, nature and the environment would not be destroyed as it is today, war and hunger would be the exception; countries would not suffer unemployment crisis, underemployment and poverty as now suffer many nations of the world.
