6 essays on the oil depletion

In the form of metaphor we can say that oil is the lifeblood of the global economy; therefore has a special significance for all human beings.
In just a few years from the twenties, oil changed life in the world; of horse-drawn carts the world passed to automobiles and trucks; from boats powered by sails and coal the world passed to ships moved by oil, modern aircraft and thousands of new products and applications generated by the new power source.
The 20th century is the century of the energy revolution, through oil and then through nuclear energy, which generated another extraordinary changes for humanity.
But oil is a nonrenewable resource whose deposits are extinguished. This oil depletion process has already begun in some regions like the North Sea, parts of Asia, such as Indonesia and also in America, in the United States and Mexico. To replace conventional oil, the United States has developed in recent years a new technique, fracking, to meet their energy needs. The other countries where the oil is coming to an end are also using this new technology, which environmental effects, especially on groundwater, attract the attention of environmentalists.
In these six essays I present the figures of production, consumption and reserves of the countries most affected by the depletion of oil and related topics.
