Venezuela, the country with the largest oil reserves in the world, suffers the greatest economic and social crisis

Venezuela's oil reserves for the year 2015 reached 300,878 million barrels, the largest in the world and above those in Saudi Arabia, which for the same year had 266,455 million barrels. The table below shows the reserves of other countries of OPEC, Mexico and the world's great powers, the United States, Russia and China, which allow a better comparison and understanding of the global energy situation.

Despite having such immense wealth in its subsoil, Venezuela today suffers the greatest economic and social crisis with unbelievable figures of poverty, lack of food, medicines, serious failures in basic health services, water, electricity and with the highest rate of crimes, inflation and devaluation of its currency.
How is this possible?
That is the big question.
Could this picture of poverty and social crisis be reversed?
